Research within the School of Mathematics and Physics is carried out in research centres.

Most of the academic staff in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics belong to the
    Centre for Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics

Four members of staff belong to the Atomistic Simulation Centre,

and one member of staff belongs to the Astrophysics Research Centre.
