New visitors and members
There's lots changing in QteQ in the coming months and we are all very excited! Soon Ms. Margherita Zuppardo from Università Delgi Studi di Palermo will visit for a few months, Ben Rogers will join us
for his PhD studies, and we have a new post-doctoral
research fellow, Dr. André Xuereb. André has been awarded the prestigious research fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851. We are very excited he has decided to join
us for the next three years!

Double Success for QteQ
The group has achieved double success in June: two research papers, resulting from the collaboration with Italian, Spanish and UK institutions have been published in the same issue of the highly
prestigious Physical Review Letters.

"Milestone" work on the study of photons by Dr. Mauro Paternostro
In a recent Milestones special issue, the Editors of Nature Publishing Group have valued the seminal paper on cavity optomechanics written by Dr. Mauro Paternostro in collaboration with
researchers at Universiteat Vienna, University of Maryland, and Johannes Kepler University Linz [S. Gigan et al. Nature 444,67 (2006)] as the most recent milestone in the study of photons since
the formalisation of Maxwells equations in 1861.
